Introduction

Dear friends and colleagues,

We will be pleased to welcome you to Nantes (France) for the 20th European Burns Association´s Congress in 2023.

France is honored to hold the joined meeting of the European Burns and the Société Francophone de Brûlologie (SFB) in Nantes for a perfect exchange of knowledge and experiences in burn care. The combination of these societies will ensure optimal exchange of knowledge and synergy. It will be a great time to share experience and to create a synergy between our two societies. We are going to discuss different topics like : the interest of faca allotransplantation in the management of burn sequelae, the different type of organization of burn center in Europe, transmission of knowledge through virtual technology transmission of knowledge through virtual technology.

During the Congress, held in the wonderful Palais des Congrés located near the Sevre river, we will meet international burn specialists focusing on standards of care, progresses in burn treatment, and strategies to face disaster situations, with particular attention to the education of younger colleagues.

The fil rouge of the Congress will be the theme “Life beyond survival,” helping us to rethink our daily practice with a unique look at ethics, reconstruction, management of burn sequelae, and social reintegration of burn patients.

In your free time, you might enjoy the sweet days of late summer visiting Nantes, where a modern and creative mood is waiting for you near the Loire river. The beating heart of Nantes is the medieval district of Bouffay. Wondering around through alleys, shops, typical cafés, and terraces, you may also visit the célébre nearby castle.

Nantes is easily reachable, either by car or train or choosing flight connections.
Very close to Nantes (30 minutes by train), you can also visit the fabulous town of La Baule, a famous seaside resort with a beautiful beach and restaurant where you can appreciate seafood plateaus.
